Record keeping since the 2000 season shows 431 LRPF Races in which GWP Macaloney won 134 x 1st Open Federations and 44 x 2nd Opens — an unbelievable 41.2% strike rate for 1st or 2nd Federation.
They are the most successful loft ever to fly in the LRPF, gaining Lanarkshire Champion status on 20 occasions across 5 different decades, and are UK Golden Duif Champion 2016, runners-up 2017, 2018 and 2019. At national level they hold a remarkable Open position record — 1st Open National Sartilly, 1st Open National Buckingham, 1st Hens National Upper-Heyford, plus 20+ further Open National placings from 295 to 610 miles.
They departed the sport in November 2023, leaving behind a strain that has without doubt been one of the biggest forces in UK racing history. Tumley Lofts bought more Macaloneys than anyone else at their sale — and not only were we the biggest buyers, we also bought the best: the Lucky 13. These 13 consist of 11 pigeons that have all scored at the highest level, and 10 of those 11 have already proven to be top breeders, producing winners at the top level around the world from up to 15,032 birds.
